To celebrate National Apprenticeship Week 2021, we are sharing some fantastic apprenticeship stories that enable the nation to consider how apprenticeships help individuals to develop the skills and knowledge required for a rewarding career, and employers to build a workforce with future-ready skills!

Maddie Crisp is currently completing a Digital Marketing Level 3 apprenticeship at Urban Strides. Find out about Maddie’s apprenticeship experience below!

My Digital Marketing apprenticeship has provided me with so many techniques and knowledge that I didn’t even know that I needed. The training provided by Babington has helped me educate my team and widen their knowledge as well as my own.

Once I have finished the qualification, my employer will then be hiring another Digital Marketing apprentice. We will be using Babington for this because I have had such a positive experience during the course and highly recommend it.

I worked from home even before COVID-19, so I don’t think it has affected my apprenticeship experience at all. All of the training has been done online, and all of the online workshops are fantastic! They are all really engaging and interactive and you still have chances to interact with the teacher and all the other students. The online courses really are brilliant, they are very easy to follow and have a variety of different learning tasks.

Doing the Level 3 Digital Marketing apprenticeship has helped me grow massively. Due to the fact that the course can be done online, COVID-19 didn’t affect the course. Everything has run really smoothly and I really like the regular contact and support from my tutor.

Regarding my progression, I have the opportunity to become the next digital marketing apprentice’s line manager. In order to be a good line manager, I need all the knowledge that has been provided by the training.

I think apprenticeships are fantastic. They are a great opportunity to learn while you work. It is so much nicer to learn on the job rather than going to university and learning everything over a few years, then leave and have to try and implement everything you have learnt in a future job!

Apprenticeships are an amazing opportunity for young people and I think they are definitely the way forward for a lot of companies too. I think that it is fantastic that apprentices can learn while on the job, get a good education whilst being in the workplace, and also get a wage. Getting paid whilst learning is great!
