The Babington Assistant Accountant Level 3 apprenticeship, now updated for the AAT Q2022 syllabus, has been developed by industry experts to build the skills required to master the principles of professional accountancy. This programme will develop your technical skills, alongside building proficiency in systems and accounting tools; effective problem solving; communication; and report authoring.

Whether you are looking for your first role, or have some experience but want to top up your skills and competencies, your new skillset will allow you to add value to your organisation as you learn and further your knowledge across all aspects of finance excellence.

Our Assistant Accounting programme combines dedicated workplace mentoring, on-the-job experience, access to high-quality online resources alongside an outstanding blended delivery model. This apprenticeship builds employees with a foundation of necessary skills, knowledge and behaviours required to become a highly competent Assistant Accountant.

For learners

This programme will give you the skillset needed to succeed as an Assistant Accountant, you will be equipped to help customers and support the running of the financial operations within your company. You will learn how to take ownership and responsibility for many vital administrative, clerical, and analytical tasks. The level 3 advanced qualification will open doors to roles such as an audit trainee, an insolvency executive, a payroll supervisor, or you can enter the industry through several routes.

  • Advanced double-entry bookkeeping
  • Underlying principles of accounts preparation

  • Tax processes for business, VAT and payroll
  • Business understanding and influences on structure
  • Management accounting within an organisation

  • The End Point Assessment for this level 3 apprenticeship will take place in the final 3 months of your programme. This is your chance to evidence your learning through different assessments methods, these are a combination of calculations and written assessments, a Gateway Discussion, and the presentation of your programme project.
