When searching for an apprenticeship, you may have seen roles in business administration appear frequently in your results.

Many people imagine these kind of roles to all be the same – sitting in an office, filing and sorting paperwork for more senior team members; but this is not always the case.

Many interesting and unique companies and organisations need employees in business administration to work with them, in order to keep them running and operating efficiently.

Exciting Places to Work

Here at the Babington, we aim to provide you with the best positions available; in a business that will keep you engaged, fulfilling your potential and being able to provide you with the valuable knowledge and experience that apprenticeships are so well-known for.

In the past, and at the moment, we have had apprenticeships and traineeships that have taken place at Chatsworth House, the BBC, Radio Stations and at the Bolton Wanderers Football Grounds – in various kinds of roles, often including business administration.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Business Administration is an extremely flexible role, offering you a variety of career pathways post-apprenticeship. Depending on the business you choose, you may have to get used to the different issues, procedures and vocabulary that the industry uses. This means that you have to be adaptable, and a quick learner.

Some business admin roles are focussed on numbers and filing, whereas some may involve thinking more outside the box. But one of the biggest perks of business admin is that you can make the role your own, with a certain freedom in how you can assist the company.

But, if a business administration apprenticeship is the route that you want to take, they include some ‘staple’ duties. These include:

  1. Typing up documents
  2. Preparing and inputting spreadsheets
  3. Organising post
  4. Faxing
  5. Photocopying
  6. Handling confidential documents
