AAT qualifications from Babington
AAT is the UK’s leading qualification and membership body for accounting technicians. Working globally, AAT has around 125,000 members in more than 90 countries. Ranging from introductory to advanced, AAT offers three levels of qualifications which equip you with essential and advanced accounting knowledge and skills. Whatever your previous knowledge and experience within the accountancy sector, we have an AAT qualification suitable at your current level.
Do you have ambitions to go into a senior role? AAT is the ideal first step towards further qualifications such as ACCA and CIMA which take you onto specialist areas of accounting. Completing certain AAT qualifications even give you exemptions from certain modules on the route to becoming a Chartered Accountant.
The full AAT qualification is considered equivalent to the first year of an academic degree but at a fraction of the cost of university education. Becoming AAT qualified makes sense as both a smart career move and a sound financial choice.

David Hodson: AAT level 3 student
“I can clearly say that distance learning works for me and have benefitted from doing it this way, giving me the opportunity to put as much study time in as I can when I’m in the right frame of mind. I like the way the website dashboard works and find the video lectures and quizzes to be useful and informative, breaking things down into manageable items that are more easily remembered. I find these supplement the Osborne books very well, please don’t change anything!”
Case study: From Maths Teacher to Qualified Accountant
Rosie Stokes, a busy mum of three, took some time to talk to us about how completing her AAT qualifications with Babington has helped her to change career and achieve a better work-life balance.
|Why did you choose Babington for your AAT qualification?
I choose Babington over another training provider because I felt distance learning would suit my lifestyle better. My background in teaching has given me some very useful skills when it comes to timetabling my studies! I worked out how many hours I needed to study for the exam, and broke that down to fit into my busy lifestyle.
How has the qualification helped you with your career?
My AAT qualifications got me the job I have now. The role I applied for initially asked for experience, but when I went to interview, I explained that I had achieved a merit in AAT Foundation Certificate and was close to achieving the AAT Advanced Diploma, all through distance learning. This impressed my interviewers so much that even without previous experience they gave me a chance!
