We recently sat down with Nicole, a Level 3 Business Administration apprentice who works at Babington’s HO, to find out how she’s finding her apprenticeship experience so far!
The aim of this role is to support our in-house photography team in preparing high-quality images for auction catalogues and online listings. This is an entry-level role designed for someone looking to develop practical photography and studio skills within a professional auction environment while working towards their Customer Service L2 Qualification.
Day-Day Responsibilities:
- Prepare and Photograph auction items including jewellery, watches, handbags, antiques, art, collectibles, and silver
- Set up and maintain studio lighting, backgrounds, and camera equipment
- Ensure images are sharp, well-lit, colour-accurate, and consistent across catalogues
- Capture required angles and detail shots (e.g. hallmarks, signatures, condition issues)
- Name, organise, and upload images correctly to the auction management system
- Work closely with cataloguers and admin staff to meet auction deadlines
- Handle items carefully, following auction house handling and security procedures
