The Babington Finance or Accounts Assistant Level 2 apprenticeship, which includes completed of the AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting, has been developed by industry experts to build the skills required for aspiring accountants, providing a foundation in the core accounting knowledge. This programme introduces bookkeeping and the principles that underpin double-entry, the use of control accounts and reconciliations leading to the creation of journals and a trial balance, alongside building business awareness and the principles of contract law, types of business entity, the role of a finance function within an organisation, and the appropriate formats and communication methods required to produce work effectively.
