Home > Training Solutions > Public Sector: Meeting the Apprenticeship Target
Public Sector Bodies and Government Departments, with 250 or more staff in England, have a target to employ an average of at least 2.3% of their staff as new apprentice starts over the period of 1st April 2017 to 31st March 2021.
Due to our specialist trainers and programme capacity, we have a very successful track record within the Public Sector and Central Government. We understand the complex requirements that Public Sector organisations must meet through skills development and work with a large variety of authorities, identifying and building on their skills gap across a range of job roles.
Awarded Frameworks
The Central Government, through the Crown Commercial Service, have provided Babington with the following award frameworks:
- Apprenticeships Training and Related Services (RM3823)
- Apprenticeship Training Dynamic Marketplace DPS (RM6102)
This means we are an approved training provider by the UK Government, to deliver flexible training in Accountancy and Finance, Leadership, Project Management, Operational Delivery, HR, Digital, Customer Service, Commercial, Property and more. We are only one of thirteen training providers with the ability to deliver through the DPS, making it simpler for Public Sector organisations to procure our services.
Our range of Awarded Frameworks makes us one of the few providers of choice for all Public Sector Bodies; including Local Councils, NHS Trusts and Emergency Services.

Account Management
All of our partnered Public Bodies and Government departments also receive access to an Account Manager that is responsible for the following:

Our apprentices are thriving and really enjoying their studies. This is a credit to the organisation, design and delivery of the programme delivered by the Babington.
Babington has an excellent understanding of the commercial pressures we are sometimes under and are flexible to our needs. The company has very good industry knowledge and are very supportive to our staff.
The support that our guys receive from Babington is breathtaking, I could not ask for more. Many of our guys work different shifts and Babington’s Training Advisers have a very flexible approach, and are more than happy to be available to visit onsite at whatever time we need them.
The support team at Babington do just that – ‘support’. Not only do they support us as the employer, but they ensure individual apprentices can flourish and develop. Early stats show that our apprentices have more staying power and commitment than many of our other new trainee recruits.
After difficult experiences with other training providers, Babington have restored our faith in apprenticeship learning programmes.
