My traineeship taught me how to work effectively in a team and also helped me come up with my own individual ideas. I am a lot more confident now than I was at school, and now feel I can communicate very well with the staff, children and parents at the nursery. Babington also helped me with new ideas to add to my CV to make it stand out from the others.
My work experience with Bolsover District Council gave me lots of skills from time-keeping to good listening skills. I also got to redo my English and Maths to a good standard for employers. Babington gave us great one-to-one guidance and helped us with group work. It sets you up well for an apprenticeship, and there’s always a chance of a job after you complete a traineeship.
I have really enjoyed the BBC Make it Digital traineeship, and the staff at Babington have been really helpful and polite. I have gained lots of new skills with them, including better time management, employability skills, and the ability to work in a team.
My work placement was with Bolton FM radio station and it was really fun, I got the chance to take part in events, guest starred in some radio shows, and even got the ability to host my own show! I made loads of new friends, and picked up many new digital media skills, including coding, video production, blogging, and how to create my own website.
The traineeship was honestly the best thing I ever did, it built my confidence and it has really helped me turn my life around for the first time in years. I knew where I wanted to be and that I wanted a start a career in business admin.
All the staff at Babington are very supportive and lovely people to be around. They’ve always supported my needs and been there I have ever needed a chat. I have also passed my English level 1 functional skills and sat my maths exam too.
