Essential Digital Skills Level 1

Digital skills such as operating digital platforms, storing data, and transacting online safely are essential skills to have in modern life. This knowledge and skills are necessary to the have professionally and personally.

Our Essential Digital Skills Level 1 course allows learners to be able to demonstrate their understanding of essential digital skills and will be enabled and confident to use digital platforms and services. Learners are given the opportunity to acquire a foundation of skills that can be applied and developed throughout one’s career and personal life.

Entry requirements:

  • UK residency requirement
  • Postcode restrictions do apply, the candidate must be in a qualifying location
  • Candidates are required to own working IT equipment and have stable internet connection (computer, access to Microsoft packages, video, and audio)

For learners

On completion of this course, you will be confident using digital devices and online applications. From text and image search to social media and file management, this course will open you up to the various skills needed to use digital devices and platforms, correctly, efficiently, and safely. These skills are transferable and applicable to various professions and your personal life. In addition, learners who achieve this qualification can progress to relevant level 2 courses and apprenticeships.

Building on your existing skills and experience, during this free course you will:

  • How to use devices and handle data
  • Managing and storing information using digital devices
  • Digital communication methods
  • How to be safe and responsible online
  • Online transactional services and how to use them safely

  • Learners will take a mock test and the following day they will do their assessment
  • The assessment for this course in a 145-minute examination, covering the topics taught during the course
