Setting Team Objectives

Posted by: Nigel Girling

To be effective, setting team objectives should make a measurable contribution to the overall strategic objectives of the organisation.

You need to consider the relationship between your team and the stakeholder’s vision and goals, and then ensure that the targets you set reflect the things your team can deliver to support them.

In this video recording of our recent webinar, Nigel Girling, director of the National Centre for Strategic Leadership, discusses performance management and setting team objectives that produce results. He covers the following points:

  • What to measure
  • What targets to set
  • How high to set the bar
  • Using motivational language
