The Babington Group 2014 Communications Day was a great success, and gave us all the opportunity to take a look at what we’ve been doing well.
Each Babington department had its own pop-up shop as part of ‘Babington on the high street’, a chance for everyone to find out exactly what other parts of the business offer. Each shop had its own theme within the wider topic of growth. For example, the Education and Skills team went with a Jack and the Beanstalk theme, representing the way they help learners to climb to the top in terms of skills and qualifications.
Babington judges picked the best pop-up shop at the end of the day. Among a variety of interesting costumes and props (as you can see below), the winners had to be the Employability team. With their alchemy themed stall, they demonstrated the way they combine learners’ natural passions and abilities with the skills needed to flourish in the workplace.
A popular attraction was the fancy dress photo booth, which you can also see evidence of below.
Overall, the day was a chance to get together and recognise what we’ve done well, as well as rewarding ourselves for our hard work. So, what have we achieved over the last year?
Ofsted grade 2 ‘good’ rating
We were delighted to receive a grade 2 ‘good’ rating from Ofsted. It reflects our efforts in a number of areas, including:
- Helping learners to progress well and complete their qualifications within the time expected
- Equipping learners with the skills and confidence to pursue further qualifications
- Providing tutors with the support they need to perform their best and get the most out of learners
High satisfaction rates
We surveyed our learners, and found that 93% of them are happy with their courses. We did the same with employers, and were thrilled to find an even higher level of satisfaction – 94%. This fits in nicely with our Ofsted score, another indicator that we’re giving both our learners and employers a great experience through our efforts.
Babington Group is proud to have offered 59 different programmes to nearly 8,000 learners over the past year, supporting around 1,800 unemployed people to gain the skills they need to launch a career. We have also worked with almost 2,000 employers to increase the skills of their workforce.
We look forward to pushing boundaries even further, working with passionate people to deliver high quality programmes and achieve our best success rates yet.
