On 3rd March 2020, it was announced that Babington Group’s CEO, David Marsh has been elected to the AELP Board of Directors.
David joined Babington in 2018, bringing years of experience in leadership and management to the business and we are proud to announce that he has been successfully nominated for this role.
What is AELP?
The Association of Employment and Learning Providers (AELP) is a national membership organisation, delivering most of Britain’s apprenticeships, traineeships and other educational programmes to support the unemployed. Their main role is to represent AELP members to Government departments and agencies, to ensure that the development of learner-centred, skills and employability services policies are of a high standard.
The AELP also support employers and educational providers by giving them easy access to information related to the skills and employability sector and how any changes could affect them, strengthening Britians businesses and economy.
The Results of the AELP Board Election 2020 came in this week and David is now a newly appointed Director for AELP, to represent the smaller providers (up to 5000 learners).
“I am really excited to have been voted onto the Board of AELP and get the opportunity to further support other providers to help influence the direction of Government’s skills policy and interaction with providers. It is a real reflection on Babington’s growing status in the sector that I have been voted on and this is down to the hard work of everyone across the business. We are really passionate about helping the whole skills landscape to be successful as it is critical for the future of the UK economy and especially at this time of real change as we leave the EU – being part of the AELP board is a great way for us to support building this legacy. Our business is all about Developing Better Futures and this definitely supports this purpose!” – David Marsh, CEO of Babington Group and newly appointed AELP Director.
David’s involvement in Skills Sector development
The AELP Director appointment isn’t David’s only involvement in providing growth within the sector. This new role will sit alongside David’s other existing commitments, as part of the Provider Reference Panel for the ESFA and also Chairing the St Martin’s Group.
What this means for Babington
David brings a broad range of skills, sector knowledge, connections and experience to Babington, which enables us to provide businesses and their employees with enhanced future employment prospects and professional skills.
Everyone at Babington would like to wish our CEO, David a huge congratulations for being a newly appointed Director of AELP and wish him all the success in this role.
