Important Notice – 12th March 2020: Coronavirus

Posted by: Jennifer Bramley Post Date: 12th March 2020

Employer Communication:

We’d like to take this opportunity to reassure you that in the event of an outbreak of Coronavirus, we have contingency plans in place to ensure that any disruption to the service we provide to you is minimised.

Our aim is to maintain normal business practices for as long as possible, whilst safeguarding and protecting our colleagues, learners and customers. We will adjust our approach pending further advice from the Government and the needs of our customers.

We want to confirm to you that our colleagues have the ability to work remotely, with full access to systems and communications. If the situation arises where we are unable, or advised not to attend your office and/or not to deliver face-to-face training events, we will endeavour to put in place alternative arrangements; for example teleconferencing, or webinars – where practicable –  to enable us to maintain our services.

We would like to request that you notify us if there is any risk you are aware of to our colleagues in visiting any of your sites, in accordance with Government advice around prevention and containment of Coronavirus, this is to assist us in safeguarding you, our colleagues and our learners.

Until then it’s business as usual.

Kind Regards,

David Marsh

Chief Executive Officer

Apprentice/Learner Information:

At Babington we know that some of you may have concerns or questions about the current outbreak of COVID-19. We want to reassure you we are working hard to ensure our learners are safe and that, as far as possible, business proceeds as normal. We will continue to communicate to you as the situation changes but this will mainly be directly through your trainer. Wherever possible we will continue to deliver your training programme, either face to face or through the use of technology – please support us by accommodating these necessary changes when they occur.

Babington is following Public Health England guidance. UK public health measures are world-leading and the excellent NHS is well prepared to manage and treat new diseases.

At Babington we have followed well-established systems in setting up a group to coordinate our response.

We will continue to focus on good hygiene habits. Please help to support the campaign below which promotes good hygiene practices.

How to avoid catching or spreading coronavirus

  • Wash your hands with soap and water often – do this for at least 20 seconds
  • Always wash your hands when you get home or into work/ college
  • Use hand sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available
  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze
  • Put used tissues in the bin straight away and wash your hands afterwards
  • Try to avoid close contact with people who are unwell

  • Do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean

For additional guidance on the best way to wash your hands, you can access a World Health Organisation (WHO) poster by clicking here and/or an NHS video by clicking here.

We are also advising our learners that if they feel unwell, they should stay at home and seek further advice by contacting NHS 111 online by clicking here

If for any reason you are unable to attend your training programme or there are changes to your working practice, please advise your trainer/tutor or contact our Safeguarding team on 07557 265040 or by email
