Babington have hosted their first employer roundtable event for the property sector. The goal for this event was to find out how we can make our property apprenticeships better. The event was supported by Mike Smith and the Propertymark team.
Babington wanted to understand the sector from their key customers in what is a challenging and evolving market space. Doing this meant that we could get a greater understanding of how we can improve our new and existing apprenticeship programmes.
Here are some of the key topics that were mentioned during the event:
- The development of a level 3 property sales standard is essential
- The focus on 20% off the job training is key and helping team members understand how to put job skills into practice
- The need to develop senior talent with coaching skills and specialisms
- ROPA is a reality and the sector is ready to be accredited
The uptake from our partners was incredible with representation from:
Matthew Elson Client Relation Director said – “As the leading provider of property apprenticeships Babington are keen to enable the sector to have a voice and focus on how providers can ensure the training and development needs of the industry are met. With changes planned due to ROPA (Regulation of property agents) and the focus on customer experience at the forefront of customers’ needs these sessions give us the needed insight to work closely with our partners. A big thank you to everyone who joined us on the roundtable and we look forwards to the next one as we launch our level 4 senior property management programme”.
