Are you aged between 16 and 19*, and eager to gain experience in live music production?
We’re launching an exciting new sound engineering study programme, giving you the chance to gain real work experience within the industry. You’ll gain a set of new skills in areas including:
- Mixing a band
- Setting up small and large scale sound systems
- Stage management
- Live event lighting
You’ll work alongside experienced sound engineers, as well as performers, to put on impressive live events. The programme will be based at The Venue in Derby, which has featured acts including Funeral for a Friend, Foals, Young Knives, Ash, and Suburban Legends.
You’ll have the chance to get truly hands on, organising your own live music event as part a group of trainees.
The study programme lasts 16 weeks, and begins on Monday 18th May, so enquire now to secure your place. This is a great opportunity to get your foot in the door in an area that’s notoriously hard to break into, so don’t miss out!
Gaining work experience in sound engineering will open up a range of opportunities, including industry recognised qualifications and paid work. The programme could act as your first step towards a number of exciting roles, from studio recording to producing sound for live events in huge arenas.
Come along to our open day on Thursday 14th May, between 2pm and 5pm, to get a taste of what the programme will involve, and ask any questions you have. Just come along to The Venue, 47-49 Abbey Street, Derby DE22 3SJ.
*To be eligible, you should be between 16 and 18, or have turned 19 since August 2014.
