Security Training: Traineeships and Apprenticeships

If you want to step away from the traditional and more common apprenticeships, such as; business administration, accountancy, or health and social care, you may be interested to hear about the security training offered at the Babington Group, via either traineeships, or apprenticeships.

Why Should I Work in Security?

Security is a very highly regarded career option to take. It is an exciting and variable job role, where no two days are the same.

Security guards are needed in all kinds of industries, from shops and shopping centres, pubs and clubs, to festivals and events. Their main purpose is to look after the safety and wellbeing of the public.

There is no set path to take after completing security training, so you could find yourself working in a number of areas – you could even be hired to be a bodyguard for someone famous, or in the public eye!

The Babington Group currently have security roles which allow you to work at the world famous Donington Park race track in the East Midlands.

What is Involved in Security Training?

Roles and responsibilities would vary depending on the level of your security training.

Some of the units you can expect to complete may include:

  • Being involved in keeping venues safe
  • Preparing for events
  • Dealing with accidents and emergencies
  • Controlling the entry, exit, and movement of people
  • Monitoring spectators
  • Dealing with problems
  • Controlling and detaining people

Your apprenticeship training would also involve the SIA Door Supervisor course, and close protection training.

About Donington Park

Donington Race Track is part of the Donington Hall Estate, located in the East Midlands, right next to East Midlands airport.

It was the first permanent park circuit in the England, with the first race taking place in 1931.

Alongside Motorsports, Donington is also famous for music festivals, massive Sunday markets, and many other events.
