The LSA (Learner Support Advisor) team are your first point of contact when you enquire about our apprenticeships and traineeships, and are always there to help you find an opportunity that suits you.

The team will direct you towards an apprenticeship or traineeship, and also help you with the application process. By getting in touch with our advisors, you will be able to gain useful advice and guidance for your CV, cover letters, and even interview technique, which can land you an apprenticeship role!

Here’s who you will be in contact with when you enquire about our apprenticeships. You can speak to us by sending us a message here, or calling 01332 345450.

Victoria Walker – Recruitment Manager

What key skill do you add to the team? As manager of the team, my key skill is to always help the team succeed, and push them to be the best they can be, which in turn will help our learners.

What’s an interesting fact about yourself? I’m scared of rabbits and kangaroos. I got chased by a kangaroo when I was little, and Watership Down traumatised me as a child!

What was your first thought when you woke up this morning? ‘Not long until Christmas!’

If you were an animal what would you be and why? A platypus probably – I love swimming but I also have their clumsy traits.

Megan Phillips – Learner Support Advisor

What’s your favourite place in the world and why? It has to be India – it’s so culturally diverse and interesting. The roads are manic though!

What key skill do you add to the team? My experience, I’ve been in the apprenticeship industry for 4 years now, and I find that my background knowledge helps a lot.

What do you find rewarding about this role? I also started my career on an apprenticeship, so I know how valuable it can be. It’s great to be able to give people the option of a different career choice.

If you were an animal what would you be and why? Perhaps a turtle. I’ve just come back from holiday from the Maldives and saw a lot of them. I love the way they go with the flow!

Terence Cooper – Learner Support Advisor

What key skill do you add to the team? I’m a strong communicator, particularly when it comes to information and guidance for those making their apprenticeship applications.

What is your favourite place in the world and why? Anywhere with sun – but basically Jamaica. I’ve been about 10 times, it helps that I don’t have to pay anything for accommodation.

What’s an interesting fact about yourself? I can do a yard of ale without spilling a drop (I’ve got photographic evidence if you like).

What’s the longest amount of time you’ve spent without sleep? About 3 years ago I went to the soul weekender festival. Arrived on the Friday, didn’t sleep until Monday morning!

Shelby Harrison – Learner Support Apprentice

What key skill do you add to the team? I’m motivated to create new opportunities for people, and making sure they’re up on our website.

What and where was the best meal you ever had? Probably the delicious curry that I have at my local pub.

What do you find rewarding about this role? I mentioned in my blog post how nice it is to help people find a job that suits them, as I know from experience how tough it could be.

If you could choose one superpower, what would it be and why? Invisibility. I’d really enjoy freaking people out!

Natalie Jones – Learner Support Advisor

What key skill do you add to the team? I’m full of knowledge about apprenticeship funding, rules, and regulations. If you need to know anything, don’t hesitate to ask!

What is your favourite place in the world and why? The Gambia in West Africa. I went after finishing college, the people were really friendly, and it really was an eye-opening experience.

Would you rather fight one horse sized duck, or a thousand duck-sized horses? One horse-sized duck. I think I can take it, and there’s only one of them, so at least you can see where it is!

What’s an interesting fact about yourself? I’m a huge movie fan, so I spend a lot of my spare time attending film premieres and meeting celebrities. I recently went to the midnight release of Star Trek, which was amazing.

Chelsea Cooley – Learner Support Advisor

What was the name of your first pet, and what was it? It was a miniature Shetland pony called Poppet – it was pregnant too, so we got two for one. We didn’t know it was pregnant until we got it though!

If you could choose one superpower, what would it be and why? I’d love to be able to fly. I wouldn’t have to worry about failing another driving test, or getting the bus.

What key skill do you add to the team? I’m very well organised – you can probably tell by looking at my desk.

Shark diving, bungee jumping, or sky diving? Sky diving. I don’t trust that rope when it comes to bungee jumping, and sharks… have you seen them?!

Sophie Bennett – Learner Support Advisor

What key skill do you add to the team? My drive and motivation to get things done.

What’s an interesting fact about yourself? I’ve broken 13 bones: nose twice, few fingers, ankle, elbow, knee… I’m a bit clumsy!

What was your first thought when you woke up this morning? I was excited about my upcoming birthday, and was wondering what presents I might get.

What and where was the best meal you ever had? I went to visit some family from Holland, and every time I emptied my plate, they will immediately pile food back on it. I must have had my plate filled about 7 times.

Jamiel Morgan-Smith – Learner Support Advisor

What key skill do you add to the team? I’m passionate about matching the right apprenticeship role with the right people, and helping them start their career.

If you were an animal what would you be and why? I would say a Lion – I don’t like losing.

What is your favourite word: Unbelievable!

What do you find rewarding about this role? I’m giving people a real chance to start their career on an apprenticeship.
