Our very own Business Development Director Kam Penglin has won the Finance, Legal and Professional Apprentice Award at the 2016 Asian Apprenticeship Awards.
The award show was a fantastic celebration of Asian culture, with an aim to encourage British Asian communities to consider apprenticeships as a genuine career path. The award also rewarded Kam’s hard work in providing opportunities for individuals who are looking to progress their career with qualifications, courses, and apprenticeships.

The award show was supported by some huge names, including business entrepreneur and Dragon’s Den star James Caan, and actor, writer, and comedian Guz Khan. Not only that, but there was also great entertainment including comedy acts, keynote speakers, and a Bhangra dancing and drumming group.
When asked about her award win, Kam said: ‘To be honest I was completely overwhelmed. I really was not expecting to win this award, as there were two other great young apprentices nominated, and apprenticeships are often known to be starting routes for young people.
I didn’t originally do a degree, and am now currently doing a level five apprenticeship in management, as it was suggested that it will support my team performance, and bring me up to a degree equivalent qualification.
I think the message this gives is that you don’t need a degree to get where you need to go. There are alternative routes available. I also hope that the Asian Apprenticeship Awards will help to advertise and educate people that there are qualifications available to suit everybody who is looking to self-improve.’
