Jack Edge, an Insurance Apprentice with the Babington Group, has gone above and beyond in his role at AMB Insurance Services Ltd, proving apprenticeships to be a successful investment for any business.
19 year-old Jack started his role with the Wolstanton business last July as an insurance apprentice, and has recently been promoted to the role of Accounts Handler, after exceeding expectations on his apprenticeship.
After a rapid progression as an apprentice, Jack is now expecting to complete his Certificate in Insurance Professional qualification within the next six months.
Benefits to the Business
Following Jack’s success, Company Director Andrew Barrow is looking to hire another apprentice with the Babington Group, to fill his place.
The current team of 8, is expected to grow to 12, after making major commitments towards personal growth. Speaking of Jack’s time as an apprentice, Andrew says: ‘We see apprentices as a future investment. We spend a lot of time with them, and they also have to commit to their training. To end result is that everybody grows with the business – so everybody benefits!’
Andrew is very proud of Jack’s progress, and is nominating the 19 year old for the title of Apprentice of the Year at The Sentinel Business Awards, sponsored by Stoke-on-Trent College.
Jack’s Experience in the Role
Within his placement, Jack has been given a huge confidence boost by learning within a working environment. Part of his role included looking after new claims, as well as new business.
Speaking of his role, Jack said:
Part of the benefits of going into a business, is that you realise quite quickly how hard you have to work to achieve success, and it has also made me realise the value of things – while some of my friends have gone to uni, I’ve earned enough to buy my own car
Jack intends to keep progressing in his career, with the long-term goal of becoming an account executive – something he is aiming to achieve within the next 3 years.
