115 Babington apprentices took to the stage in gowns and mortar boards in Derby on Wednesday, to graduate with Level 3 and 4 qualifications.
Graduates were from a wide variety of courses, including Financial Services, Health and Social Care, and Hairdressing, coming together to celebrate their special achievement. Babington even had its first ever Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) graduate.
We were lucky enough to be joined by Olympic swimmer Grant Turner, who awarded graduates with their certificates.
Attendants were treated to a series of inspirational speeches throughout the day. Grant Turner talked about the importance of persevering towards your ambitions, while CEO Carole Carson expressed her pride in both Babington learners and staff.
We also heard from Babington learners. Zoe Rawnsley, one of our Boots Level 4 learners, talked about her achievement of Retail Week’s Apprentice of the year 2014. Jamie Selby from Selby Chartered Accountants and Tax Advisors shared his journey from Babington accounting apprentice to owning his own accounting business.
Babington World Skills winners talked with Chairman Frank Lord about their achievement of the national accounting award.
A mouthwatering buffet lunch gave learners from every course, along with tutors, friends and family, the chance to network and enjoy the memorable event.
A professional photographer from Flashback, as well as Babington’s own Jack Annable, captured stunning photographs of the day’s highlights.
Should anyone wish to order photographs, they can do so by going to www.flashbash.co.uk and selecting ‘view your photos’.
