Are Apprenticeships Term Time Only?

Posted by: Tom Post Date: 25th October 2016

Like college or university, you may think that there is a set day to apply for an apprenticeship, and you may be stressed to get everything sorted before ‘the start of term’.

However, although some providers of apprenticeships (including colleges) have a set date to start an apprenticeship, our apprenticeships are available 365 days a year.

This means that there is no term time during an apprenticeship, and you can send in an apprenticeship application at any time.

Apprenticeship deadlines

Different opportunities have all manner of different deadlines – so the deadline for an apprenticeship really depends on the employer. You can apply for individual opportunities and see what apprenticeships we have available here and on Not Going to Uni. Or if you can’t find one that catches your eye, you can get in touch with us and we will find an opportunity to suit you.

We offer apprenticeships across a range of different sectors, with all manner of different employers, meaning opportunities are available at any time – whether it’s during the summer, winter, or right in the middle of the school term!

Do apprenticeships have terms like school or college?

Essentially, an apprenticeship is much like a full time job, and you will have the right to the same holiday entitlement as other employees.

This means that you will be entitled to at least 4 weeks of paid holiday each year. However, the amount of holiday dates available will be up to your employer, as they will have their own internal procedures.
