Top Apprenticeship Opportunities in Nottingham

Nottingham is a city buzzing with culture, a huge music scene, and is a great place to shop!

However, it has well-documented issues with unemployment, with reports at the end of 2014 indicating that Nottingham had the highest proportion of workless households.

We may be able to combat unemployment with apprenticeships – apprenticeships will give you a well-supported route straight into work, as you’ll get paid on the job and earn the qualifications and experience needed to progress.

Here are some of our top opportunities in the Nottingham area:

NHS Facilities Assistant Apprenticeship

This is a varied role based in Nottingham City Hospital, where you will be aiding the nation’s healthcare system. The role will be particularly suited to a practical individual who loves to be organised – as you will pay a key role in ensuring that the hospital is meeting the needs of each individual, and that the surrounding environment is a safe place for everybody.

This is a well-paid apprenticeship (£288 a week!) with a great opportunity for progression to a full time position as a multi-skilled facilities assistant. You should also be able to use an iPad, as you will keep one by your side to track your tasks and interact with colleagues.

We  have an open day for this opportunity on the 4th of July at 9:30am at Priory Court, NG9 2TA. This will give you a chance to find out if the apprenticeship is for you, and to be considered for an interview. You can enquire below.

Gedling Borough Council Environment Traineeship

Gedling Borough council are giving you the chance to gain some great experience in the great outdoors this summer with a 16-week traineeship. The traineeship will involve taking care of the surrounding environment in Gedling, which will include tasks such as hedge trimming, planting and maintaining flower beds, and line marking for sports fields. You will also be able to develop your maths and English skills, and employability abilities such as interview technique and CV writing.

The chance to watch your work bloom throughout the season means that this opportunity is well suited for the green-fingered. Don’t miss this traineeship to blossom in a role with the local council!
