A Nottingham-based recruitment company is urging other businesses to consider local young people for employment opportunities.
Frontline Recruitment Limited, based in the city, are issuing a ‘rallying call’ following the great success they have experienced with young people on their own Apprenticeship scheme.
Frontline have now employed 5 young people through their apprenticeship programme, all of whom made such an impression on the business, they are now permanent employees.
One such example of how Apprenticeships are a great career pathway, is 20 year old Joshua Rhodes, from Bestwood Park, who joined Frontline in June 2011.
Joshua has now been with Frontline for over 3 years, and has gone from earning a basic apprenticeship wage, to over 30k – quite an achievement!
Frontline’s Regional Operations Manager, David Essam, said
My key objective was to give young local people an opportunity to join the recruitment industry. There is constant bad press about 16-21 year olds, which, with a young family myself, I wanted to change and give these youngsters a chance. We are soon to have our 6th apprentice join Frontline Recruitment, on the back of the success stories of Demi, Charlotte, Mae, Sarah and Joshua.
He continued, “Joshua joined my team in June 2011 as an administrator, and was a key member of the team during the record breaking year of 2013 as a recruitment consultant.”
Carole Carson, CEO for the Babington said
Joshua is a great example of just why apprenticeships work so well. They provide opportunities for motivated young people to learn whilst in employment, and develop sector-specific skills. All of our apprentices at Frontline will bring new ideas and fresh talent, whilst demonstrating clear dedication and motivation to succeed. Joshua’s Apprenticeship has proved to be a great stepping stone into the world of recruitment, I have no doubt he will continue to prosper; his story will no doubt show others that it is possible to be successful, given the opportunity and support.
