Following the previous update provided by Dave Marsh, Chief Executive of Babington, on 12th March we are providing you with a further update as to our ongoing contingency plans.
Our aim continues to be to maintain normal business practices for as long as possible and to safeguard and protect our colleagues, learners and customers. We are monitoring closely the Government’s advice and recommendations and are aligning our response to the Coronavirus pandemic as information and guidance is being issued.
Following recent announcements from the Secretary of State for Education, all our delivery centres and head office will close from 5pm on Friday 20th March, until further notice.
Many of our colleagues have been actively preparing for our transition to remote training and delivery which we now expect will be the normal course of interaction and support provided to your employees for the foreseeable future. We have been working tirelessly to ensure that we have as much content as is required in an online format for delivery to continue with as minimal disruption as possible. We will continue to support customers who have a requirement for a trainer to visit their premises, where it is safe to do so.
We are conscious that some learners will be nearing the end of their programme and we continue to work with our Awarding Bodies and End Point Assessment Organisations to offer the flexibility needed with regards to assessments, examinations and providing remote solutions where possible. Our delivery teams will keep you updated as to the specifics for your individual learners.
We understand that this is a worrying time for everyone and will be affecting business in different ways and we will continue to keep you informed with further updates as and when we have them. As a business, we are committed to doing all that we can to support you and your colleagues to keep functioning as a business and keep developing your people. We have a wide range of additional short programmes that we would be happy to discuss with you to utilise any additional capacity your teams have whilst the pandemic continues.
Finally, we would like to thank you for your continued support during this time.
Executive Director – Customer Engagement
I know that this is a very worrying time for everyone given the uncertainty and the pace of change during these unprecedented times. We want to reassure you that we are doing everything we can to ensure that the disruption of our service to you is as minimal as possible. We are continuing to work through the constantly changing advice from Government and translating how that best means that we can support you,
As we have advised in previous communications we are continually reviewing our approach to maintain the best version of business as usual so we can continue to deliver to you in response to the challenges posed by the Coronavirus pandemic; we are aligning our response to the advice and recommendations provided by the government and as such we are going to close all delivery centres with effect from 5pm today, Friday 20th March until further notice. Anyone who usually receives training or takes examinations and assessments in one of our delivery sites will no longer be able to access our service in this way.
We have been working hard to ensure that all of our trainers are equipped with the tools they need to enable home working and we have been making as much of our programme content accessible through blended delivery so that we can continue to support your learning during this time.
Our Apprenticeship Trainers will continue to deliver planned sessions in employer’s premises, where we are permitted to do so. Where this is not possible, we will work with you to plan how best to continue to your programme through blended training and delivery remotely. If you have any questions about what this means for you then please contact your Trainer in the first instance.
For our Employability students, your Tutor will be in touch with you to discuss how we can best support you as we are exploring blended delivery options for you.
We are continuing to work with our Awarding Bodies and End Point Assessment Organisations to offer flexibility with regards to assessments and exams and providing remote solutions.
We understand this will be a concerning time for most of you and we will continue to keep you informed and up to date with information as soon as we know it.
Thank you all for your ongoing understanding, flexibility, and support during this challenging time for us all!
