What will I be doing?
With this qualification, you will gain an extensive knowledge in lettings and property management, with on the job training by industry professionals.
Having moved up from a customer service and administration role in level 2, level 3 will involve challenges such as dealing with viewing, valuing and marketing properties, and negotiating prices with potential tenants, giving you a comprehensive estate agency experience.
This apprenticeship will involve tasks such as:
- Progressing rental applications by potential tenants
- Negotiating tenancies
- Monitoring changes and assessing their impact in the local property market
- Preparing inventories for properties to let
- Visiting and inspecting tenanted properties
- Maintaining managed properties
- Renewing and extending tenancy agreements and reviewing rents
What qualifications will I achieve?
You will achieve a level 3 City & Guilds Certificate in Property (Residential Letting and Management) and if required, level 2 Functional Skills in Mathematics and English.
The qualification continues on from the foundation of knowledge you will have learned on the level 2 apprenticeship, giving you substantial training to become an asset to any business in the industry.
What are the entry requirements?
As the level 3 apprenticeship requires more extensive knowledge of the industry, it is recommended that you first complete the level 2 in Residential Letting and Management.
However, there are exceptions for those that can show at least a year’s worth of experience and knowledge on the industry, but this depends on the choices of the employer.
What can I do afterwards?
This qualification will give you the necessary knowledge and experience for you to work with confidence within the property sector, including negotiator roles at estate agencies, and positions in investment and property development.
This has been an amazing opportunity for me, which has given me the chance to gain hands on experience, and work towards a qualification in Residential Sales. I know that learning and understanding the business and industry inside out will open many doors for myself. I think being able to start a career at my age is a great achievement, which I’m very grateful for. Without the support of Babington and Connells, I feel that I wouldn’t have been where I am today.
