Introduction to the course
Our Network Engineer Level 4 programme gives participants the skills to design, install, maintain and support communication networks within an organisation or between organisations. They will then go on to understanding network configuration, cloud, network administration, monitoring tools, and be able to give technical advice and guidance.
Over the course of the 15-month programme, we will support Network Engineers, allowing them to advance their career in technology whilst giving them the knowledge to apply directly to their role within an organisation.
Module 1: Network Principles
This module covers the range of concepts, approaches and techniques that are applicable to network principles, for which learners are required to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding.
Module 2: CompTIA Server+
Certification validates the skills to build, maintain, support and troubleshoot server hardware and software. The Server+ exam covers server skills from 6 key IT domains: System Hardware, Software, Storage, IT Environment, Disaster Recovery, and Troubleshooting.
Module 3: Network Security
Throughout this module, apprentices will cover the range of concepts, that are applicable to network security including how these affect the way a business runs and the potential impacts they could have on a business. The module will also cover the different approaches to, and techniques of, network security and demonstrate their understanding of them.
Over the course of the programme, participants will have monthly contact with their learning coach, either through face-to-face visits or telephone contact. The coach will guide them through the tasks that will allow them to demonstrate competence and underpin the knowledge required to achieve success.
