What will this course cover?
Management skills have a major impact on the development, productivity and performance of all size organisations across all sectors of the economy. The CMI Level 5 apprenticeship in Management is aimed at middle managers to develop skills in strategic planning and business process design, alongside core leadership abilities including delivering results and inspiring your colleagues.
The programme is designed to inspire creative strategies and visions for a business to survive in today’s fast-moving competitive environment. This is a thorough and detailed qualification, and a unique insight into the most important aspects of leadership and management that will be incorporated into your day to day responsibilities, which will include:
- Designing business processes
- Managing strategic change within a business
- Establishing risk management processes
- Managing overall business Improvement

What qualifications will I achieve?
On the successful completion of your apprenticeship, you will achieve the Operations/Departmental Manager apprenticeship at Level 5 and Functional Skills in maths and English, if required.
What are the entry requirements?
To do this apprenticeship, learners need to be working at a minimum of level 1 Maths and English and must be directly managing a minimum of 2 people. Learners must also have significant experience (2-3 years) of working in an operational role.
What can I do afterwards?
On completion of the apprenticeship, learners may choose to register as a full member with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). Learners may also choose to pursue one of Babington’s commercial courses in Leadership and Management from Level 6 to The Chartered Manager Award.
