Introduction to the course

Our Level 3 Infrastructure Technician programme is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to develop as an Infrastructure Technician within a business, supporting productivity through the use of IT. This will enable growth and bring brand new skills to a workforce.

Our Level 3 Infrastructure Technician programme gives participants the skills, knowledge and on the job training to succeed in a technical support role.

Modules

Module 1: Networking and Architecture

Networking is the fundamental infrastructure businesses need to remain efficient and this module teaches participants the full range of concepts, approaches and techniques of networking and architecture.

Module 2: Mobility and Devices

The second module validates your expertise and knowledge of fundamental Windows devices and mobility, this covers: enterprises mobility, devices configuration, and data access and management.

Module 3: Cloud Services

Using cloud systems for data storage and sharing is a secure and flexible way to manage business processes and is becoming the standard for businesses. This module teaches participants the knowledge and understanding of cloud services to make sure they are capable of installing and maintain ‘cloud systems in the business environment.’

Module 4: Coding and Logic

Apprentices will understand algorithms, data structures and how to work/script at command line, particularly when supporting server work.

Module 5: Business Process

This module teaches apprentices about security legislation/standards, business processes, principles and techniques that relate to, and impact on, the infrastructure of a business.

Assessment

Once learners have completed and passed their exams, they will progress to the end point assessment when their performance, knowledge and skills will be assessed against specified criteria. They will need a reference from their employer and will be required to put together a portfolio of evidence and present it at an interview with the BCS (The Chartered Institute for IT). Learners will also require English and Mathematics at Level 2 before completing their Apprenticeship.
