Introduction to the course
The Level 3 IT Solutions Technician is designed to provide Learners with foundation-level IT knowledge, including mandatory units with both a Hardware and Software pathway.
Both pathways within the programme include a core set of modules taking Learners through Methodologies and Principles, Core Technical Knowledge and Security and Legislation. Learners then have the option to go down the optional Hardware or Software route. Learner outcomes include:
- Solutions Design Lifecycle
- Cyber Security
- Managing Risk
- Coding and Testing (Software)
- Hardware Configuration and Servers (Hardware)
Monitored and supported throughout, though assessed at End Point Assessment (EPA) Learners are required to completed 4 Knowledge Exams, a Project and EPA Professional Discussion with our End Point Assessment Organisation (EPAO).
A good fit for
Entry-level IT roles that provide progressive pathways in to Technical teams, initially focusing on Infrastructure or Software services.

Following completion of the programme, Learners will have a host of options available to them, from Level 4 IT Apprenticeships to programmes within Leadership and Project Management at Levels 3 and 4, their choice ultimately depending on how their role adapts and develops.
