Introduction to the course
A Data Technician could be working in a range of roles where data is processed or generated. As organisations become more digitally enabled the creation of ‘Data Champions’ is paramount to the future success of our non-technical teams, driving better-informed decision making throughout. A Data Technician will source, format, analyse and effectively present valuable insights, ensuring they work ethically and securely with a wide range of stakeholders.
Across 15 months Learners will be able to:
- Understand their business and its Data.
- Collect, Prepare, Analyst and Model Data across various platforms.
- Effectively communicate and present Data insights.
- Become a non-technical ‘Data Champion’, driving data-driven decision making and encouraging greater adoption across colleagues and the wider business.

Those who manage, analyse and utilise data regularly or are seeing a shift within their role, aligned to business transformation that requires them to understand key data concepts and how to utilise Analytical Tools more regularly.
To do this apprenticeship programme, participants must hold 5 GCSE’s grades 7-4 (A-C) or equivalent.
Learners will receive the Level 3 Data Technician Apprenticeship.
Learners will sit an End Point Assessment (EPA) that consists of two scenario-based demonstrations in addition to a Professional Discussion with our End Point Assessment Organisation (EPAO). This underpinned by a work-based portfolio built throughout the duration of the Apprenticeship.

We see this programme supporting individuals within multiple specialisms, enhancing their Data capability to enable them to further progress in their non-technical role, whether that be within Sales, HR, Procurement, Buying, Finance and beyond.
Completion of the Apprenticeship would enable those looking to embark on a technical career to complete a Level 4 Apprenticeship, such as the Data Analyst programme. Those in non-technical careers could look at further development in a range of specialisms.
