Administrator – Apprentice (Family Law Department)

To assist and support the department in the provision of administration services to the firm providing competent and efficient assistance in a timely manner. This is in partnership with Babington.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing office support including customer and employee support
  • Keeping well-organised files and records of business activity
  • Photocopying, binding, scanning, mailing and filing
  • Storage and Archive documentation as directed by the team
  • Organising refreshments for staff members
  • Running errands
  • Dealing with post and making sure it is given to the appropriate individuals
  • To undertake reception duties when required, including answering telephone enquiries
  • Making appointments and liaising with other staff and managers, as appropriate
  • Keeping computer databases up to date
  • Interacting with clients either on the phone or in person
  • Answering phones and connecting calls to the proper department
  • Making of teas and coffees
  • Taking phone messages and passing them on
  • Communicating with materials suppliers and vendors
  • Collecting and inputting company data
  • Sending faxes and emails
  • Preparing documents by printing, copying, and binding
  • Writing and editing company correspondence
  • Collecting and sorting post
  • Ordering office stationery and other supplies
  • Preparing meeting rooms by setting up chairs and getting refreshments
  • Participating in office meetings and taking meeting minutes
  • Being ready for any other administrative tasks that are required
  • Communicate as required with your assessor/trainer and complete all training/assessment requirements in accordance with the apprenticeship framework
  • Any other duties with the post as requested

What will I learn?

  • Full on-the-job training and support will be provided to enable the successful applicant to undertake the full range of duties required of the role. All apprentices are required to complete and evidence 20% of the job learning whilst on their apprenticeship.

Our Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship standard consists of the following:

  • Functional Skills in Literacy and Numeracy Level 2
  • End-Point Assessment (EPA) conducted by an external provider (Presentation or project, interview and knowledge test)

  • Progression into the role of a permanent Administrator or Paralegal
  • Candidates that successfully complete their Apprenticeship with us may be offered a permanent role within the department they have worked in if they have performed well within their role
